By default, when this key is set to True or omitted, a built application (single-user or client/server) will be generated as a read-only .4dz packed file. 

When this key is used and set to False, the built application will be generated as a regular Project folder containing only compiled code. This architecture allows the 4D code to apply modifications to the local data model of deployed applications (using commands such as CREATE INDEX or SQL create/alter statements). Keep in mind that these modifications are saved locally and will be lost when the application is updated.
